2012-13 NBA Season Preview: Pacers, Bulls, Bucks, Pistons, Cavaliers

After years of reconstruction, the Pacers are back in the elite category of the franchise in the late 90 and early 00s. But the main reason to expect Indiana to win the Central Division of the 2012-13 season is not a reason under the control of the Pacers, but due to problems with ACL injury Derrick Rose and how long the cure detox will keep him out of action this year. However, Indiana is still a very good team.

After the Pacers finished last season with a record of 42-24 as the No. 3 seed in the playoffs and had a 2-1 lead at the expense of eventual champion Miami Heat in the second round, Indiana seems ready to jump in the ranking of elite teams in the Eastern Conference. Indiana has depth at each position, and also the talent. In the offseason, the Pacers Roy Hibbert locked over a period of four years, $ 56 million transaction in which the Association will see the product of 25 years of Georgetown became one of the main centers in the league.

Last season, Hibbert put their best numbers so far in his four-year career at 13 points per game, 9rpg bpp and 2, and their production figures to increase again this year. With Hibbert in the post David West is a nine-year veteran averaged 13 points per game shooting 49% and 7 rebounds in his first year at Indiana. On the perimeter, Danny Granger continues to make his case as one of the best strikers in the league after averaging 19 points per game last season. Coaching is forward Paul George, who has made great strides in his second season, putting up 12 points per game while shooting 44%.

Point guard George Hill will take over full time after winning the starting job last year on Darren Collison, the Pacers traded to Dallas to open the way to the hill. Coach Frank Vogel also has a deep bench, Ian Mahinmi with the acquisition of Dallas in the case of Jeff Pendergraph, Collison, DJ Augustin, Young Sam, and Tyler Hansbrough all capable of giving quality minutes amounts as reserves . Novice Indiana also have the potential to contribute early, especially Miles Plumlee, Orlando Johnson and Ben Hansbrough.

With all that said, there may be a more complete team in the East, and perhaps the NBA, the Pacers this year, both in terms of depth and talent. And as deep as they are, there seems to be no other viable candidate to keep the Miami Heat reach their third consecutive NBA Finals this year interpretation of Indiana Pacers.

Could make the playoffs (in order of likelihood)

Chicago Bulls: In 1985, Michael Jordan broke his foot and played in only 18 games. The Bulls did not rush back. With doubts about Derrick Rose and his ability to play this season, Bulls fans should expect Bulls to manage your injury in the same way. Rose broke his ACL six months ago in a playoff game in April, and this kind of injury rehabilitation requires a period of 8-12 months. As a result, Bulls fans should not expect Rose to return to the team until at least early 2013. But the more we learn about the injury, speculation abounds as to whether the 2010-11 MVP will play at all this season.

While the Bulls will do this season, whether or not Rose returns? At least the Bulls are still a playoff team. Chicago is one of the most important centers of the Eastern Conference of Joakim Noah, and Luol Deng will likely be the leader in the perimeter of the Bulls this year. The position will be Carlos Boozer and Taj Gibson with Noah, who combined with Noah to 39 points and 26 rebounds as one of the best trios in the frontcourt East. Nate Robinson and Kirk Hinrich realize to see the most minutes in the vacuum of Rose, and should be useful, while Rose is out. In addition, the lack of depth in the East in general, the Bulls must appear to collect seed in the bottom half of the post-season.

Milwaukee Bucks: This is a stretch. But Milwaukee has a talented group of young players and the Bucks to score a lot of points this year with the backcourt from Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings. Ellis led the team in scoring last season with 20 points per game and Jennings was there with him at 19 points per game.

Milwaukee is also quite strong in the frontcourt, with Ersan Ilyasova, Drew Gooden, Samuel Dalembert and probably start at the front and the center point. Ilyasova made 13 points and 9 rebounds last season, which earned him a period of five years, $ 45 million with the Bucks last of the offseason. At just 25 years between his first Ilyasova and statistics to demonstrate that this coming season. The Gooden 31-year-old remains productive, as seen by his average 14 points and 7 rebounds last season. Anchor the Bucks in the paint after Dalembert also help put an 8 points and 7 rebounds with 2 blocks per game as a member of the Houston Rockets in 2011-12.

The Bucks also have a good amount of depth on the bench Ekpe Udoh, who could eventually power from Bucks forward in a timely manner, Marquis Daniels, Mike Dunleavy and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. But what could put Bucks over this year is the play of their rookies, namely John Henson and Doron Lamb.

Again, this is an exaggeration, but the Bucks could make a serious run in the playoffs this year. Milwaukee finished only last four playoff games behind No. 8 seed, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the weakness of the Eastern Conference as a whole, which ends with the No. 7 and 8 seeds this year will be a total crapshoot.

Detroit Pistons: Like I said with total-Milwaukee unpredictable. However, the Pistons have developed a number of quality young players with great potential who could afford this year. A 32-year-old pillar of the piston Tayshaun Prince and veteran forward Corey Maggette will be the only players over 29 this year. Brandon Knight and Rodney Stuckey will probably start back to Detroit backcourt, and both proved to be one of the best guards coming and going of the Association.

Last season, Stuckey to 15 points per game while averaging 13 points per game in his rookie season Chevalier, and both should continue to improve this year. Greg Monroe will be better after his great year as last year was almost an evening double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Prince will reliably to three, with their ability to defend the opposition player best perimeter intact. After these guys, there are a number of players who can take up to fill roles this year, especially in the first round Andre Drummond, who seems to have first hand information to begin in downtown Detroit, when the season starts. Another first-round pick, Khris Middleton will probably have the opportunity to contribute, from the beginning, with the first round last Austin Daye, Jonny Flynn, Charlie Villanueva, and Terrence Williams.

The probability that the Pistons make the playoffs this year, as for the Knicks in the region slim to none. But the possibility is there, and if some of the young players on this team build off of last season, the ceiling is very high for this current group of Pistons. In all reality, the Pistons probably another year away from being a serious contender for the playoffs, but that does not mean that it could happen this year.

No Playoffs

Cleveland Cavaliers: I'm sorry, but even if the Cavs have some young talent as well, not close to being able to compete for the playoffs. Kyrie Irving has been established as one of the guards in the league of high-level points last season, averaging 19 points and 5 assists per game en route to winning the rookie of the year. But after Irving, there really is not much to say for the Cavs.

The veteran center Anderson Varejao will man the 5 points for Cleveland last year, and will be a solid defensive presence until Tyler Zeller becomes Cleveland hopes it can become. Tristan Thompson had a fairly pedestrian last year, with 8 points and 7 rebounds, although he started 60 games last year. If a player fans should look to take a big leap this year in the Cavs is Thompson. The fans also seeks servers Dion, the first team round in the draft this year with the No. 3 overall. I'm still looking for answers as to why he was elected in place of Dan Gilbert and general manager Chris Grant, and I'm sure many fans of Cleveland are too. It is, especially when players like Thomas Robinson and Harrison Barnes were still on the table.

Anyway, the servers definitely under a microscope to Cleveland this season. Speaking of recruits, will be interesting to see forward Kevin Jones, who led the Big East in scoring and rebounding last season, but was drafted in June-if he gets the minutes.

Although, in general, not many Cavaliers. Cleveland is not deep in any position, and not a single player who can be identified as one that could come off the bench and give quality minutes. Cleveland is still a few years, but the development of this year should be a step in the right direction.
